Who We Are

Key distinctives of our church

We Are Gospel-Centered

The Gospel is the good news about the salvation of Christ and his forgiveness of sins for all who believe (Colossians 1:14; Romans 10:9). It is not advice, nor is it a system or philosophy to add to our lives. It is an exclusive truth claim, a holistic worldview.

Since the beginning of time when the first man sinned, mankind has been under the condemnation of God (Romans 5:12). Because everyone breaks God’s perfect law by committing sin (Romans 3:23), everyone is guilty (Romans 5:18). The punishment for the crime of sin is physical death (Romans 6:23) and then an eternity spent in a place of eternal punishment (Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:46).

The fact that all are guilty of sin and condemned to spend eternity in a place of torment is very bad news. But God, because of His love for the world, has made a way for man to be forgiven for their sins (John 3:16). He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the sins of man on Himself through death on a cross (1 Peter 2:24). In placing our sin on Christ, God ensured that all who will believe in the name of Jesus will be forgiven (Acts 10:43).

We Are a Bible-Believing, Bible-Teaching Church

We believe that God has spoken to His people through the Bible. We believe that God’s Word is sufficient for all matters of faith and practice in this life. We seek to teach the plain truth of the Bible while recognizing that there is diversity within the Protestant tradition on a number of issues, such as baptism. But in relation to the question ‘How is a person saved?’ we rest in the sovereignty of God and proclaim that “by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

We Are a Non-Denominational, Community Church

We are non-denominational, meaning that we are not associated with a particular religious denomination. We are closely connected to other churches through our network affiliations, and accountability is inherent in the leadership structure of our church. We are a community church that seeks to serve every family in our area whether they attend here or not.

We are a Village Missions Church

Village Missions is a Christ-centered mission organization based in the U.S. and Canada. Village Missions is committed to developing spiritually vital churches in rural and suburban communities. Village Missions seeks to accomplish this goal by “Preaching the Word and Loving the People.”
