What We Believe

Our statement of faith

What We Believe

1. Christ Centered: We believe we are to proclaim Jesus Christ and to live for Him. Col. 3:17

2. Authority of Scripture: We are committed to the Bible as the inspired Word of God, the absolute authority for doctrine, and for the believer’s response to God. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

3. Discipleship: We want to see people come to faith in Jesus Christ and grow as His followers. Matt 28:19-20

4. Fellowship: We value and encourage Christ-centered relationships expressed through worship, prayer, and service to one another. Acts 2:42

5. Prayer: We believe God hears and answers prayer. Luke 11:9-10, Phil. 4:6

6. Love Others: We believe we can love others because we have received Christ’s love. John 13:34-35

Our Statement of Faith

1. We believe that the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writing, and that they are the supreme and final authority. 2 Tim 3:16-17

2. We believe in one God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: co-equal and co-eternal. Deut. 6:4, Matt 28:19-20

3. We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, but that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” We believe that those who accept Christ as Savior and Lord shall be forever in God’s presence, and that those who reject Christ as Savior and Lord will be forever separated from God. John 3:16

4. We believe Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. 1 Cor. 15:1-4

5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, Mary, and is true God and man. John 1:1-2

6. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the crucified Lord Jesus after His burial, and His ascension into heaven; and in His present life there as High Priest and advocate for us. Rom. 8:34, Heb. 7:25

7. We believe that Christ will return to earth again. 1 Thes. 5:23

8. We believe that people are saved by grace from God, and that the Holy Spirit guides believers to deny ungodliness and worldly lust; that He teaches us to live soberly and righteously in this present world and to do the good work He has prepared for us to do. 1 Peter 1:14-16, Eph. 2:8-10

9. We believe in God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayers. Heb. 4:16

10. We encourage believers to be baptized upon acceptance of the Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as a public statement of identification with Christ. Matt. 28:19
